Bundesliga side, RB Leipzig, have completed a €20m deal for Ademola Lookman on a permanent basis from Premier League side, Everton FC.
The 21-year-old winger, who impressed during a loan spell with Leipzig during the second half of the 2017-18 season, has signed a five-year contract with the German side.
Lookman, a player of Nigeria descent, arrived in Germany on Tuesday and was driven straight to the Schkeuditzer Helios Clinic for his medicals.
“FC Everton RB-Leipzig wish-getter completed medical check-up and becomes a Red Bull.
“The transfer should be under 20 million euros,” according to German sports publication Sportbuzzer.de.
The deal makes him the most expensive Nigerian winger. Before now it was Ahmed Musa’s £16.6million move from CSKA Moscow to Leicester City in the summer of 2016.
Lookman, 21, already played for RB Leipzig in the second half of the 2017/2018 season and was directly involved in nine goals (5 goals, 4 assists) from 11 appearances in the German top flight.
We’re very pleased that we’ve finally signed Ademola Lookman,” RB Leipzig Sporting director Markus Krosche said.
Ademola convinced us immensely during his time on loan here and will now quickly re-integrate and further enhance our attacking play with his dynamic ability.”
