Who is Veronique Rabiot? The ludicrous agent and controversial mother who influences his son’s football career.
While the world of football is blessed with some of the finest agents you could ever imagine, there is also some influential female agents who are quite good in negotiating an awesome deal for their client.
Veronique Rabiot has been the backbone of Adrien Rabiot’s career since his father couldn’t due to an accident in 2007 that caused him serious injuries which led to total paralysis, and since then the controversial Veronique Rabiot has been acting as an intermediary for his son.
Veronique Rabiot’s reputation for absurd behavior isn’t something that started overnight, the French woman is well known for her confrontational attitude and that’s one of the reasons her son’s clients don’t dare cross their boundaries with her.
Her track record of been blunt and standing by her convictions dates back to Manchester City in 2008 when Adrien was with the club academy at age 15. Due to her impatient and weird way of reacting she withdrew her son from the academy because she felt the club didn’t trust him enough to make it into the first team.
“He was a sensitive boy, very intelligent, he played on the wing and he was already tall for his age. But what made him stand out was the great mentality he had, he was polite and respectful, which is very unusual for a young Frenchman“.
Fast forward to 2014, the controversial agent also brought her show of shame to the fore at Paris Saint Germain, where she waited in the parking lot for Laurent Blanc in other to accuse him of relegating Rabiot to the reserve team.
After the club integrated his son back into the team and went on to had a brilliant campaign with the club hoping that he would renew his contract, yet he didn’t renew because the club couldn’t afford the 10m per season contract the mother proposed.

During that period, the bridges between PSG and Veronique Rabiot has already burn she released a statement that got the club furious:
“It’s not just an impression. Adrien is a prisoner.
He is even a hostage of PSG. Soon, it’s dry bread, water, and the dungeon!
This environment is cruel… (…) They take him hostage because he does not want to re-sign, while he is only respecting his contract. Adrien asks only that: to respect his contract ”, she had notably launched in the columns of L’Équipe in March 2019
This led to Adrien running out of his contract and leaves the club as a free agent.
She also threatened legal action against the club over the issue of her son, while she also disobeyed training camp rules in Doha despite family members been banned from the training yet she found her way into the training complex.
For months Adrien Rabiot was one step close to secure a move to Camp Nou, a move that failed apparently due to Veronique’s requests to insert a special clause regarding the use of her son in the starting lineup. I guess Barca’s board turned down the offer to avoid the iron lady’s brouhaha.
Veronique’s bulky attitude didn’t just end with the club’s her son played for, or those she offered her Adrien to, it’s also trickle down to the national team.
In 2016, when Les Blues was playing Bulgaria in a World Cup qualifying match in Sofia, she questioned the coach on why he decided to replace Kante for Adrien in the cold citing that he could get injured due to the weather.
Veronique Rabiot’s Clash With Mbappe & Pogba’s
As if all Veronique’s past tantrums with Les Blues and the Parisian club isn’t enough. She yet again displays her ugly behavior in their defeat at the European Championship against Switzerland arguing with several other teammates’ families.
She first started by labeling Paul Pogba as the cause for Les Blues ouster due to his error in the build-up to the Swiss equalizer, a statement which got Manchester United’s midfielder family annoyed.

The unnecessary argument with the Pogba’s didn’t end there, she took it down to the Mbappe’s, telling Kylian’s father that
“It is embarrassing how he struck that, for a player of his level. He hit it too lightly. I hope you are going to scold him.”
Other families there said that they were shocked by Veronique’s attitude and the timing of her outburst. Tensions had apparently surfaced early in the game as well, with security reportedly having to tell the Pogba’s family to calm down as they reacted angrily to Adrien Rabiot’s mistakes.
Irrespective of her preposterous behavior, the French woman is an experienced agent who is very good at the negotiating table and she always makes sure the deal is quite lucrative that both parties smile to the bank in the end.
With that in mind, Adrien Rabiot’s move to Juventus in 2019 was orchestrated by the controversial mother cum agent who doesn’t really care what people say about her when it comes to defending the interest of her son and airing her opinion concerning what she feels it’s right or not.
