Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo again hit back at critics in the wake of winning yet another award, the Portuguese said he generally calls himself the BEST since that is the thing that he believes, as he grabbed the Portuguese player of the year award.
The Real Madrid player’s passion and confidence for the game have never been in question as is his competitive nature which encourages him to compete with Barcelona star Lionel Messi for the top gongs a seemingly endless amount of time.
The Los Blancos star was named the best Portuguese player of 2017 on Monday, beating Sporting CP goalkeeper Rui Patricio and Manchester City star Bernardo Silva.
Ronaldo was voted the best player of 2017 by footballers, team coaches, fans, and a jury led by former Portuguese star Luis Figo. He was accompanied at the function by his better half Georgina Rodriguez and his agent Jorge Mendes
The 33-year-old grabbed a record-equalling fifth Ballon d’Or a year ago, having helped Madrid win LaLiga and the Champions League.
