Gernot Rohr Releases Super Eagles List To Battle Brazil 1

The coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Gernot Rohr, has called up a strong squad of 23 players that will do battle with the Selecao of Brazil in a high profile much anticipated international friendly that will be played on October 13 at the National Stadium of Singapore.

The list consists of a majority of the regular players, while the duo of Kenneth Omeruo who plies his trade for Leganes in the La-Liga and Wilfred Ndidi who plays for Leicester City and was absent in the 2-2 draw against Andrei Shevchenko’s Ukrainian side is back to the team.

Ramon Azeez who shone for Grenada and scored in their 2-0 win against Barcelona is also back in the team after a long time. Peter Olayinka who scored on his Champions League debut for Czech side Slavia Prague in their 1-1 draw against Inter Milan at the San Siro gets his first Eagles call-up, as well as Dennis Emmanuel who stars for Club Brugge in the Belgian League.

The duo was the only two new players in the team with Gernot Rohr sticking to the core of the players who prosecuted the 2-2 draw against Ukraine three weeks ago as only Bryan Idowu, Kelechi Iheanacho and Josh Maja were axed from the team.

Their was also a call up to Shehu Abdullahi who was missing from the last squad due to injury but captain Ahmed Musa wasn’t called up as he is yet to recover fully, same as Benfica full-back Tyronne Ebuehi.

Midfielder Joe Aribo who scored on his Eagles debut against Ukraine and goalkeeper Maduka Okoye who plays for Fortuna Dusseldorf in the German Bundesliga also received call ups.
