New Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland has blossomed into one of the most exciting young players in European football this season, having excelled in the UEFA Champions League for Red Bull Salzburg and now giving the German fans a debut they may likely not forget in a hurry as the young Norweigian lighted up the WWK Arena with his twenty minutes hat trick after coming on as a substitute. This means the former Red Bull Salzburg has earmarked his BVB debut in styles.

The 19-year-old was linked with the likes of Manchester United and RB Leipzig with a possible January move. However, Haaland eventually made the switch towards the German club to team up with the likes of Paco Alcacer, Mario Gotze and all.

Dortmund will be pleased to have signed Haaland, as he has proved beyond any reasonable doubt that he can put the ball to the back of the net even at the highest level so far this season.

The goalscoring potency of Haaland will help streamline any adaptation process especially with his current team-mates at BVB. Haaland against Augsburg on Saturday afternoon netted his sixth hat trick of the season to help his team secure a dramatic comeback from 3-1 scoreline in the second half and 31 goals in 22 appearances so far in all competitions he has played this season.

As we get closer to the commencement of the second round of the UEFA Champions League, the young attacker looks set to spearhead the attack of the Die Schwarzgelben against the French giant, PSG definitely has a tedious assignment to do against the Favre’s led Dortmund side as the goalmachine could tear Les Parisiens apart..

Paris Saint Germain were the table-toppers in the group that had Real Madrid finishing with 16 at the expense of the Spanish giant. However, the February 18 first leg fixture will come with overflowing excitement – simply because of the magnificent young and exciting football players that will grace the Signale Iduna Park for the first leg.

Moreso, the game will have Thomas Tuchell return to the German club for the first time since 2017. The worry for the aged defenders of Parisians will be to keep the Dortmund’s front-line at bay. The three-man attack of Dortmund are pacy, sharp and technical with the ball; meaning Thiago Silva and his cohorts will have to be on top of their game to avoid the repeat of last season.

The physicality of the defenders of the French side will only do a little against a side that has brought in arguably most in-form U20 striker to compliment the effort of Thorgan Hazard, Marco Reus, and Jadon Sancho – a night of ecstasy truly awaits us.
