Super Eagles striker Emmanuel Dennis introduced himself to Europe in scintillating form as his two-goals nearly gave Club Brugge a shock win over  Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League at the Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday.

The 21-year-old who made his debut for Nigeria in an 8-minute cameo against Ukraine in September stunned the Los Blancos faithful with a brace in the 9th and 39th minute to give the Jupiler League side a shock 2-0 lead in Spain.

The 13-times champions, however, rallied to force a draw and avert massive embarrassment through strikes from Sergio Ramos and Casemiro in the second half.

Notwithstanding the disappointing result, Dennis, who was born in Abuja and made the journey to Europe in 2016 when he signed for the Ukrainian side Zorya Luhansk has served notice about his prodigious talent.

Dennis is unlikely to forget his grand brace against Europe giant, however, especially after being reminded of his pledge to mark the goals with ink.

I guess I will now have to get two tattoos,” he said jokingly to Belgian television channel RTL after the game.

“I’m happy to have scored two goals, but we really wanted to win the game and we were not far away from doing it. We have to be content with the point, which is not a bad result.”

Emmanuel Dennis has also scored twice in six league appearances for Club Brugge in the Jupiler League. Club Brugge are next in action at home in the league against rivals Gent on Sunday, 6 October.
