American football (NFL)and soccer are two of the biggest sports in the World. Both share some similarities not only name but also in terms of playing surfaces (and asides the fact that both are played by humans), the shared similarities don’t go really beyond that.
In its bid to spread the gospel of the NFL beyond America, NFL games have been held outside American soil and one of the grounds is Tottenham’s White Hart Lane that has been hosting games since 2022

Now it’s not surprising to see professional athletes of one Sport take interest in another, also some are quite conversant with the rules and happening in their “second choice” sports. It’s like seeing Rafael Nadal, the king of clay talk football or Kylian Mbappe at an NBA game.
Thus, the NFL in partnership with BETWAY brought the BETWAY NFL Challenge with Tottenham as four Spurs players were paired in two to test their knowledge of the NFL. The challenge had three stages; the first stage tagged charade needed one partner try and identify the name of a franchise which is acted out by the other partner without saying their names.
Apparently, Pierre Emile Hojbjerg, knows his NFL franchises as he quickly identified the teams Sergio Regulion was imitating and got a 100% mark identifying the franchises. The first one, the Detroit Lions may not have come quickly but with a 30 seconds timer for each attempt, there was enough time for trial and error from Tigers, Claws (the claws??? really!!!) Before finally getting the correct answer.
The New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys and Miami Dolphins all came easy for Hojbjerg but before all accolades pour on the Dane, the Spaniard deserves some too, it won’t be a surprise if Sergio Regulion attended drama and art classes in Spain before becoming a professional footballer.

However, Lucas Moura may need to meet Sergio for description classes, no disrespect to the Brazilian but he needs to do better. The first attempt at Chicago Bears was neither here nor there, New York Jets and Minnesota Vikings were pretty much easy and straight forward but Ben Davies was definitely lost for the Baltimore Ravens.
To be fair a Raven is quite difficult to describe asides flying around like a hawkman which the Brazilian was more or less stuck in for thirty second. For the sake of Moura and Davies who lost the Charade, the Baltimores should find a better and easier mascot.
Moura seems like the man for any occasion where a comeback is needed, cue Spurs V Ajax, 2019 UEFA Champions League semifinals where he scored a second half hattrick to send Tottenham into the final which they lost to Liverpool.
Team Hojbjerg and Regulion led into the second round tagged NFL jargon 4-3 but it seemed they are only in love with Franchise mascots and not the NFL jargons and terms. Blitz, Sack, and Stiff Arm, both players “fumbled” through the round picking just one point for a 5-3 lead.
This was to the delight of Ben Davies and Lucas Moura who could easily pass for an NFL player with his knowledge of the jargons of American football. Horse Collar came quite easy for Moura and Ben was on point with his explanation for Hail Mary to equal the score at 5-5.
It wasn’t quite straight forward for the lead as Ben and Lucas needed a booth confirmation for the Flea Flicker for 6-5 and Doink for a 7-5 lead. Hojbjerg and Regulion looked clueless in a round where their other two teammates could have easily passed for professional American footballers with their uncanny knowledge (or are they NFL variants?, Oh sorry this isn’t a multiverse).
However, Mark on the map the third and final round of the Challenge sealed Lucas and Ben as winners overall although it was with a slim margins. Mark the map needed both set of players to locate the bases of the NFL franchises on the American map. All teachers who may have been involved in taking Sergio, Lucas, Ben and Hojbjerg through Geography classes from their junior classes wood have been proud.
Sergio Regulion and Hojbjerg won the battle in the third round, correctly identifying six franchises within sixty seconds but with five correct placements, Lucas Moura and Ben Davies won the war overall with a 12-11 overall points.
Ben Davies wasn’t sure how he and Lucas did it but he thinks Sergio and Hojbjerg must have been very poor for them to have won. Public service announcement Ben, Sergio and Hojbjerg sucks at NFL Jargons and must be made to sit and watch all two NFL games held at the White Hart Lane henceforth if possible, fly to NFL games in America.
They can find their ways around New York, Dallas and Miami, if they can do so on a map.
