Modifying body parts has consistently been in existence since the medieval era, inking of the body was an ordinary piece of beautification then, but the proliferation of religions saw a decrease in its utilization. But lately, body inking has seen an upsurge.
The upsurge in tattoos trend is particularly a questionable one, as while many consider it to be a simple inking of the body for beautification, others don’t fancy it or think of it as an unthinkable and tainting of the skin.
Furthermore, athletes and ink seem to be very close friends as almost every top football star has at least one tattoo on their body, some have even gone beyond inking just one tattoo on their body and get extremely obsessed with inking tattoos that depict their inner feelings through the art of ink.
Sometimes, the fans even wondered why tattoos are synonymous with athletes, most especially football stars as most inked a tattoo on their body, though the myths behind why most of them inked it on their body perhaps may look bizarre, then to some of the fans seeing it on the body of their favorite football player looks appealing to them.
So among the top football players who beautify their body parts is the Chilean captain nicknamed ‘Rey Arturo’ (King Arthur) by the Italian media.
Arturo Vidal is one of those top players who are extremely obsessed with a tattoo, over 32 tattoos on his body, one of them carries and shows his excess love for his family. Moreso, Vidal is often judged for his weird look which many don’t really fancy, but ironically that look does catch his fan’s attention, which is the more reason why he’s been called a fighter, tackler, and a midfield orchestra by his fans.
In his sojourn in European football up till date in all of the clubs he has donned their jersey, Vidal has been called all sorts of names including the ‘Gladiator, the Warrior‘ which truly depict the dexterity and zeal which he put into his game on the field of play for the club and his country.
Arturo Vidal’s tattoos & Meaning
(1) ‘Never Give Up‘ – This tattoo on the center of Chilean’s neck shows or simply talks about his strong-willed attitude towards his game anytime he’s on the field of play and most importantly his life.
(2) ‘Cross With Wings‘ – The Barcelona midfielder has a tattoo on the center of his collar which shows a cross adjoined with wings on its sides from which rays of light comes out, the cross along with the angel wings is inked on his collar to seek blessings and wishes for his loved one who has passed away, which also depict wholehearted love for his family.

The body of the Chilean, Arturo Vidal carries over 32 tattoos, with a large chunk of it inked with different meanings while some of them are for mere fashion, but according to him:
I started the inking of tattoos on my body back in Italy with over 30 of them on my body, he went further to say that he has a space reserved on his stomach for the Champions League” Vidal stated further that “My obsession is the European cup” that he hopes to win it one day, which means we should expect more from the Chilean if he eventually wins the most coveted club tournament in Europe.
