The 2024-25 Nigeria Premier Football League season has been a captivating display with all of the teams vying for the title competing toe-to-toe with each in every matchday.

Galadima’s consistent performance in the NPFL got him the opportunity to be part of Nigeria’s Super Eagles B team, for the upcoming 2025 African Nations Championship qualifying fixture against Ghana.

3. Adeyinka Adewale – (Plateau United, €1.53m)

Adeyinka Adewale is one of the renowned NPFL goalkeepers who previously held the record for the most clean sheets by a shot-stoppers in a single season in the league.

He joined the Peace Boys from Kwara United in the transfer window having impressed in the league with his outstanding performance on a two-year contract.

Adeyinka’s experience and expertise have no doubt be an asset for Plateau United since joining the club from Kwara United.

4. Mustapha Lawal – (Shooting Stars, €1.25m)

Lawal was Sunshine Stars’ main man in between the sticks with his incredible reflexes and coordination of the defence before he moved to Shooting Stars.

So if consistency and performances were anything to go by, then it is safe to say Lawal has been one of the most consistent shot-stoppers in the NPFL despite his team’s struggles this season.

If the Oluyole Warriors are serious about doing anything tangible in the NPFL this season, then they certainly need Lawal to be up and running in between sticks for them with consistent performance.

5. Joshua Enaholo – (Niger Tornadoes, €761k)

Only a few goalkeepers are fortunate enough to don the colours of two NPFL’s most successful and revered teams in Enyimba and Kano Pillars in terms of their pedigree.

The 2023-24 NPFL season ended on a good note for the towering shot-stopper having returned from Sunshine Stars to cement his spot as the first-choice goalkeeper for the Flying Antelopes.

Opubo was rock-solid in-between the sticks for the Enugu-based team throughout their impressive run at the top of the NPFL, leading to him winning his first Nigeria Premier Football League title playing 29 league games and keeping 12 clean sheets.

With the 2024-25 NPFL campaign already in matchday 12, Opubo also started on a good note with the outfit and going into this weekend’s Oriental derby against Heartland he would be key for them should he start.

8. Mutawkilu Seidu – (Akwa United, €426k)

9. Adeniyi Bamidele – (Rivers United, €377k)

Rivers United’s remarkable run in the NPFL can be attributed to several factors under new coach Finidi George, but one name stands out considering his performance for the Pride of Rivers.

The veteran shot-stopper experience, commanding presence and sharp reflexes have been quite helpful for him in between the sticks for Rivers United.

10. Otodo Akor – (Lobi Stars, €357k)

Akor sealed his move to Lobi Stars after Gombe United got relegated to the Nigeria National League (NNL) having performed poorly in the Nigeria Premier Football League.

Before moving to Lobi Stars quite several clubs were interested in him due to his unwavering and outstanding performances between the goalposts for Gombe United.
