Mario Balotelli was exasperated by comments made the by prominent American artist, the Italy international striker criticized rapper Kanye West for remarks he made over “Slavery“.
Kanye West claimed the subjugation of African Americans over hundreds of years was a “Choice“.
Speaking to TMZ recently, the 40-year-old stated:
“When you hear about slavery for 400 years… for 400 years? That sounds like a choice
“You was there for 400 years and it’s all of Y’all? It’s like we’re mentally imprisoned.”
The 40-year old rapper partially withdrawn his remarks as he tweeted:
“Of course I know that slaves did not get shackled and put on a boat by free will. My point is for us to have stayed in that position even though the numbers were on our side means that we were mentally enslaved.”
However, that has prompted a reaction from numerous quarters, with Mario Balotelli quick to speak up and blast Kanye for the “slavery choice” comment.
“What kind of bull***t coming out of your mouth?” he said on Instagram. “Really? Was slavery by choice? Brother, seriously, who brainwashed you?”
Balotelli, who was born to Ghanaian parents and adopted by an Italian family, has been resolute by racist episodes all through his footballing career, most recently claiming that he got racial abuse from a section of Dijon fans amid a 3-2 loss in Ligue 1 in February.
