Manchester City’s surprise bid for Vasco da Gama’s midfielder Douglas Luiz Soares has been apparently acknowledged by the Brazilian club as the Premier League club are wrapping up a deal for the young prospect.
The 20-year-old was left out for Vasco’s squad for their game against Vitoria as he is planning to leave for England, says Globoesporte. Douglas will move to Manchester City for an underlying expense fee of €13m ascending to €16m in light of appearances and success.
The Brazil U20 star has played 39 first team games with Vasco and has also interested the like of Borussia Dortmund and Monaco.
Should he finalize his move to the Etihad, Douglas will become Vasco Da Gama richest transfer move in the club history. It is expected that Luiz will at first be loaned out, perhaps to Spanish club Girona in whom City are going to secure a close to 50 percent stake, as opposed to promptly join Pep Guardiola’s first team squad.
Douglas is tipped for a bright future and is viewed as one of the nation’s most promising youth prospect alongside City striker Gabriel Jesus.
