Premier League champions Leicester City have offered Jamie Vardy and his family additional security after they received series of death threats, as indicated by Sky Sports.
Jamie Vardy explained that his better half (wife) was nearly run off on the road while driving with their kids in the vehicle.
While, he has been targeted by irate football fans – who felt he was one of the players who pushed for Claudio Ranieri’s rejection as Leicester manager.
This season the Foxes have flirted with relegation after series of the poor run of form with Vardy one of the players whose form has fallen below par.
After Ranieri was dismissed, numerous critics asserted the players had intentionally played woefully for the Italian, and the players were even delineated as snakes in the fallout.
“The story [that I played a part in Ranieri’s sacking]is out there and people pick it up and jump on it and you’re getting death threats about your family, kids, everything,” Vardy stated.
“To be honest I get [death threats]every week. On social media, you name it, walking down the street. Football fans don’t seem to like me.
“I just get on with it but when people are trying to cut your missus up while she’s driving along, with the kids in the back of the car. It’s not the best.
“It’s happened plenty of times. It is terrifying. All that can happen is they get banned on Twitter. People get cut up but if there are no cameras you’re screwed.”
Vardy is expected to play a part when England face Germany on Wednesday in an international friendly.
