UEFA/CAF Tourney: Golden Eaglets Beat Guatemala 5-1

The Nigeria Golden Eaglets team on Tuesday thrashed their counterpart from Guatemala, 5-1 in their second match at the ongoing Pre-World Cup tournament in Turkey.

Four solid goals were scored within the first 25 minutes of the encounter with the first strike from Olakunle Olusegun in the 5th minute while Abdulahi Fawaz netted the second in the 10th minutes.

In the 17th minute, a master strike came in from David Oduko who made the scoreline to be 3 goals to nothing against the Guatemalan side.

A powerful header came in from Akinwumi Amoo in the 24th minutes to make it goal number 4, a mistake from the defensive line cost Nigerians Golden Eaglets a consolation goal in the 30th minutes to make it 4 goals to 1. Ibrahim Jabaar scored a screamer to make the tally five towards the end of the clash.

The victory over Guatemala has made it two wins in two games for the Eaglets at the UEFA/CAF Tourney after defeating the host country Turkey 2-0 in the opener.

At the weekend, the five-time world champions bashed hosts Turkey 2-0 to get their campaign off to a flying start.

World Cup qualifiers Angola, Cameroon and Senegal are the African teams at the invitational tournament.
