“There are two players in the world whose styles I admire most and wish to adopt. They are Ronaldo de Lima and Yakubu Aiyegbeni.
“Growing up, I watched a couple of their matches and since I’ve been playing professionally, I try to put into practice some of the things I see them do which I believe contributed to their successful careers while also making them the most dreaded forwards of their time.
Odey also revealed how he admire Ronaldo’s striking abilities.
“I loved everything about Ronaldo. His moves and his footwork were wonderful. His scoring ability for me is second.
“There was another aspect to his game which I know I have to emulate no matter what. He loved to take on defenders and put them on the backfoot. he added.
“Yakubu has also distinguished himself in the forward role which is why I idolise him. If you take a look at his records in English football, you’d be amazed. Those successes didn’t come on a platter of gold. He worked hard for it and having studied some of his clips because that’s what I do most times to improve myself, I learnt a lot Yakubu.
“He is very dangerous in the box and he positions himself very well. His balance makes it difficult for defenders to dispossess him easily and I want to be like that.”
