Sikiru Olatunbosun has spoken out what seems to be rumours surrounding the club’s goal scorer issue, stressing he and Stephen Odey are brothers both on and off the pitch as there’s no despise between them in regards to who scores for Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM FC).
Both strikers were on MFM scoresheet on Matchday 16 after the Olukoya Boys vanquished Abia Warriors 2-1 to reignite their title ambition and staying top of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
Sikiru who made the assist for Odey to score his thirteenth goal of the season stated: “My relationship with Stephen is exceptionally cordial. MFM FC represents a family.
“We’ve known each other and played together for long. We both understand our playing pattern.
“Odey or I can score likewise provide the assist. So it’s not a matter who scores, the interest is the team achieving its target at the end of the season.”
On Odey goal, “I’m happy scoring the second goal and my fourth of the season, its has been long I scored via a free-kick, so am happy it was a masterpiece.
“The victory against Abia Warriors is a huge booster for the team, as we have reclaimed the NPFL top spot. Again it serves as a tonic for us going into our next game which is away to Nasarawa United in Lafia.”
With MFM FC recording a total of 22 goals as at Matchday 16, both players have scored 17goals combined, thus making them the most deadly strike force in the NPFL currently.
