After the Portuguese striker referred to himself as “the best footballer in history“, Argentine legend Diego Maradona did not keep down while noting the Real Madrid star.
“Everyone is allowed to say what they want, also to say nonsense. I don’t think Cristiano Ronaldo is the best player in history. No way,” the former Argentina star said on Venezuelan TV program ‘En la Mira de RT’.
Maradona still commended the five-time Ballon d’Or winner for his distinguished career: “I respect him for his career and that’s it. From that to talking about the best ever… he has a lot of ground to cover.”
After winning his most recent France Football award in December, Ronaldo announced himself the best footballer in the world, but of all time. A remark that was liable to controversy and has now come back to the scene after the Argentine legend’s similarly questionable articulations.
