Ronaldo Hat-trick Seals World Club Cup For Madrid

Published

on

Cristiano Ronaldo hat-trick helps Madrid clinches their second world Cup title as the Spanish giants needed extra time to turn off the tide against the spirited Kashima Antlers in a 4-2 thriller.

Madrid opened the score sheet just 9 minutes into the game when Benzema fired home a nice shot.

Kashima the firm underdogs and a mismatch for the Spanish giants responded with Gaku Shibasaki goal making the Asian get back to level before scoring again seven minutes into the second half.

The underdogs came out with a full intensity that caught Madrid by surprise, but Real Madrid did not take long to assert themselves, extra time as Ronaldo wrecked their dreams by converting a penalty and send the extra time.

Ronaldo gave Madrid a lead in the 97 minutes after controlling Benzema’s clear pass before making a fine finish with his left foot.

AT 3-2 Kashima still looks for a glimpse of hope to resurrect the game, they responded by rattling the crossbar through Yuma Suzuki’s shot.Madrid was just too solid for them to pull down and finally Ronaldo once again dust the game through Toni Kross intercepted shot and make it 4-2.

However, Cristiano Ronaldo reaches another superb landmark hitting 40th hat-trick in his Real Madrid career.
