Charles Dayot, the mayor of Mont-de-Marsan, a commune in southwestern France, was one of the few people who place a bet on PSG in the wake of beating Barcelona 4-0 in the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 clashes last season.
Dayot took to Facebook preceding the second-leg to suggest he was confident to the point that PSG would emerge the winner from the Nou Camp with a win over two legs and that he would eat a rat on the off chance that the Parisians were knocked out.
With PSG pounding Barca 4-0 in the first leg of their last-16 encounter, Charles Dayot of Mont-de-Marsan — a commune in southwestern France — took to Facebook to declare he would eat down the unappetising dish if the Ligue 1 giants were dumped out.
In any case, Dayot was left with no decision other than to swallow his pride alongside a cooked rat when Barcelona finished the unlikeliest of triumphs.
Despite the fact that the Spanish PSG led the second leg 2-0 at halftime, the bullish Mayor was a long way from ratty as PSG seemed liable to score at least once at the Nou Camp.
Which implied that Dayot needed to make the mind boggling stride of chowing down on a rodent after his bet did not work out.
Given that the game occurred back in March, it took him a long time to get around to eating his sumptuous meal. But on Sunday he finally managed to honor his pledge
Dayot ate the rat while using a PSG shirt as a napkin, giving a Barcelona a chance to top rest the table alongside him.
