Plateau United Top The League,Rangers Were Held To A Goalless Draw



Plateau United consolidated their lead of the NPFL with a solid 2-1 win over Abia Warriors, while Rivers was held to a goalless draw by the Visiting team Lobi Stars and champions Rangers international were also held to a 1-1 draw by Niger Tornadoes at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium on Sunday.

Defending champions continued their run to defend the title as they were held by visiting Niger Tornadoes.

Rangers were denied twice by Niger Tornadoes goalkeeper Obinna Nwodo in the opening 15 minutes of the game while also parried series of long-range efforts and a free kick by Fortune Omotawari before he squandered what seems to be the best chance as at 19 minutes.

Plateau then secured the match winner when Philip Azango slot home the ball following Kabiru Umar‘s penalty was partly saved by the Warriors goalkeeper.

Meanwhile, league debutant Remo stars secure a 2-0 win over Elkanemi Warriors as Enyimba, ABS FC, MFM FC, Wikki Tourist and Gombe United all secure three points at home.
