Premier League side Chelsea FC has secured the service of Napoli midfielder Jorgonho, with his move to Stamford Bridge confirmed in the wake of Maurizio Sarri’s appointment as the new boss on Saturday.

The midfielder had been widely tipped to be on the verge to join Pep Guardiola’s side for s considerable length of time, but Chelsea has stolen in amid the latter stages and grabbed him away from City’s money-bag grip.

The Italy international penned a five-year contract with the Premier League side, getting together with Sarri, the man under whom he flourished with at Napoli.

“I am absolutely ecstatic to be here at Chelsea,” Jorginho said of the move, speaking to Chelsea’s club website. “It is not easy to become part of such a big team so I am very, very happy. I am excited to play in such an intense league, for a team that gives everything to play and win.”

Club director Marina Granovskaia pointed to his quality and relationship with Sarri as factors behind Jorginho’s signing. “We are delighted Jorginho has chosen to join Chelsea,” she stated. “He was one of the most coveted midfielders in Europe and will become an important member of the playing squad.”

“He has demonstrated his quality working under Maurizio Sarri and we are convinced his signing will help bring further success to Stamford Bridge.”

Jorginho was a foundation in Maurizio Sarri’s Napoli side which was so effective in pushing Juventus for the Serie A title. His dispersion from the core of the midfield will be beyond a reasonable doubt missed at the Stadio Olimpico, but Napoli’s loss is particularly much The Blues gain.

Not one player in Europe’s top five leagues attempted more passes last season than Jorginho. All things considered, he played a pass in the direction of one of his teammates like clockwork

The Brazil-born player, who was enticed by the possibility of living in London, is allegedly costing Chelsea in the region of £50m.

He will wear the number 5 shirt, and will assist Sarri with transitioning Chelsea into another period of all the more attacking football.
