Schalke’s sporting director Christian Heidel has affirmed in a press session on Friday that Germany international Leon Goretzka will join Bayern Munich toward the end of the season.
Goretzka’s contract agreement is due to expire toward the finish of the season, prompting serious interest from lots of clubs across Europe, but it has now developed that the player has passed a medical and agreed on a deal to sign for Bayern Munich in the summer.

Heidel stated: “Leon Goretzka informed us not long ago that he wishes to leave the club and join Bayern”.
“We were exceptionally sorry to hear this. [Bayern boss executive] Karl-Heinz Rummenigge revealed to us yesterday that Leon has completed a medical. We are losing a decent player.”
The 22-year-old joined Schalke from Bochum in 2013making 130 appearances and scoring 19 goals.
Goretzka will sign a four-year contract with the Bavarians, beginning from July 1.
