MFM FC of Lagos recovered top spot in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) after a humbling 3-0 win over visiting El-Kanemi Warriors on Sunday at the Agege Stadium.
Three first half goals from Austine Ogunye, Sikiru Olatunbosun and Stephen Odey gave MFM FC three points to take Olukoya Boys back to the league log.
Austine Ogunye put MFM FC ahead with a stunning strike 20 minutes before Sikiru Olatunbosun doubled the lead after nine minutes to help MFM secure the first half with a flawless finish.
While Stephen Odey increases his goal count to14 after converting from the Penalty spot to make it 3-0 for the home side.
With the 3-0 triumph, MFM FC is back at the top of the NPFL log with 33 points from 18 games while Elkanemi Warriors are third on the log with 30 points from 28 games respectively.
Meanwhile, Katsina United crushed Enyimba 2-1, ABS beat Nasarawa United 1-0 and Christian Pyagbara’s 19th minutes strike sentenced Kano Pillars to a 1-0 misfortune against Akwa United at the Sani Abacha Stadium.
Somewhere else, Wikki Tourists beat Gombe United 3-1 at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, while Sunshine Stars pip Remo Stars 1-0 at the Akure Township Stadium
