NPFL Matchday 13: Plateau United Battle Pillars, MFM Seek To Maintain Momentum Against Enyimba

League leaders, Plateau united will on Sunday welcome Kano pillars to Jos in one of the matchday 13 fixtures in the Nigeria Professional Football league this weekend While Mountain of fire Ministries travel to Calabar to face Enyimba.

Plateau and Pillars are two of the top three teams at the top of the league and will have all to play for when the go head to head at the Rwang pam stadium in Jos on Sunday evening. While Plateau united are the league leaders with 22 points from 12 games this season, visiting Pillars sits third in the League with 20 points from 11 games with a game in hand.

Plateau united were held to a controversial one all draw at the Lekan Salami stadium in Ibadan last weekend against Shooting stars and will look to get a better result against an inform Pillars. The Sai Masu Gida defeated league rivals Enyimba 3-1 in Kano last weekend and also edged Wikki tourist 1-0 at the Sanni Abacha Stadium on Wednesday in a rescheduled encounter.

Meanwhile, on Saturday Enyimba will look to put their recent disappointments behind them when the Olukoya boys come visiting the UJ Esuene stadium. The people’s elephant lost 3-1 to Kano pillars last weekend while MFM defeated league strugglers, Remo Stars 1-0 thanks to Stephen Odey who scored from the spot.

Enyimba is 14th in the league with the same figure of points while MFM is fifth, 3 points adrift league leaders,  plateau united. While the duo of Olatunbosun and Odey have been instrumental to the Olukoya boys success so far in the league, Enyimba has been relying on skipper Mfon Udoh for goals. Kickoff for the match is 4:15 pm on Saturday with the live broadcast on Supersport 9.

On Sunday Akwa united versus Sunshine stars of Akure will also be live on Supersport from 4:15 pm. Only a point separates both teams on the log.

In other fixtures, relegation battlers Remo stars will welcome Abubakar Bukola Saraki ABS to the Sagamu international stadium in Sagamu. The sky blue stars are still sweating over the fitness of the team’s skipper and team’s highest goal scorer Victor Mbaoma having picked up an injury in the 1-0 loss to MFM last weekend.

Still, on Sunday, Gombe united will welcome shooting stars to Gombe, while Abia warriors will host Lobi stars, Fc Ifeanyi Ubah visits Lafia to battle Nasarawa United for all 3 points. El Kanemi warriors will welcome Niger tornadoes to Maiduguri.

However, the matches involving Rangers international, Rivers united, Kastina united and Wikki tourists have been postponed due to the participations of both Rivers and Rangers in the Caf champions league this weekend.
