Neymar Comeback: Rakitic Agrees, Dembele Not Comfortable Becoming A Bargaining Chip

Ousmane Dembele could be the final part of a long transfer adventure that is meant to bring Neymar back to Camp Nou. However, it seems Dembele is not comfortable in being part of the deal. As his agent has again insisted there is “no chance” his client will swap La Liga champions for Paris Saint-Germain.

As the negotiation is in its final stages, events are precipitating more rapidly. Rumors had it that Barcelona officials have been in France for talks with PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi and sporting director Leonardo, and those discussions are ongoing.

On Tuesday night, Barcelona executive director Javier Bordas told the press that the clubs were “closer” to an overall agreement for the Brazilian to return to Catalunya.

Just this morning various media outlets claimed that the deal could be closed for around 125 million, with Rakitic been part of the bargaining chip and Dembele’s loan, while hours later Thomas Tuchel’s approval had all but confirmed the deal.

The next step to the long-awaited return of the Brazilian winger has already come and gone. As French media reports, the Croatian player has already agreed to leave for France, but Dembele continues to be reluctant to leave as a bargaining chip in the transfer deal.

Moussa Sissoko, his agent, has once again made it clear that he is not leaving the Camp Nou. This time, in statements to Telefoot: “There is no chance he will leave. Ousmane stays at 100%”.

In addition, ‘Le Parisien‘ specifies that those 125 million could end up being fixed between 140 and 150 million within the offer, in addition to the Croatian’s transfer, which Barça values at 80 million. The final sum would reach the 222 that Paris Saint-Germain originally paid for Neymar and that they were requiring as a minimum to let him go.

Sporting director Leonardo is also in favor of the inclusion of the Croatian player, who has started the course as a substitute and has not managed to prove his worth. And, although the player’s priority is still to continue in the Camp Nou, he would be prepared to leave if it came to it.

As it stands, it is Dembele’s approval of the deal which seems to be delaying the deal, as the Frenchman is not ready to leave, as his agent has confirmed. It looks like the Barcelona board will either have to keep trying to convince the Frenchman or finally desist in their hopes of bringing Neymar back to Camp Nou.
