Super Eagles captain John Mikel Obi has agreed to a four-year deal with Spanish side Valencia, after Los Che beat off the team in pursuit of Mikel’s signature which includes Chinese moneybag Shanghai SIPG, Marseille and Inter Milan.
Mikel who has slipped down the pecking order under Antonio Conte and yet to feature for The Blues since he returned from the Olympics
However, Valencia sporting director Garcia Pitarch did confirm he had talks with the Chelsea midfielder over a possible transfer to the Mestalla stadium.
Speaking to Spanish news outlet Superdeporte: “In the case of Obi Mikel, with Chelsea’s permission, I met with him in London on Christmas day.
“I informed him of the option [of joining Valencia]. He said he would think about it.”
