MFM FC shook Abia Warriors 2-1 to come back to the summit of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL). The Olukoya Boys did it in style as Stephen Odey and winner of CNN goal of the week Sikiru Olatunbosun scored in the first half of the pulsating encounter

Odey stowed his thirteenth of the season after scoring in the 6th minute of the game from a solo run. The striker went up against Warriors strong defence at the left half of the box as he made his run, then shoot the ball past the reach of Abia Warrior’s shot-stopper Moses Ocheije.

Sikiru Olatunbosun delivered another magnum opus just after fifteen minutes as he scored from a 20yards free kick to make it 2-0 for MFM FC who were without their head coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu.

It was a balanced game at the start for both teams in the second half as Sunday Adetunji of Abia Warriors and Odey came to scoring for their respective clubs.

However, MFM Goalkeeper Ospino Egbe made an eminent save from an awesome shot from Adetunji in the 52nd minute.

As the game got to the 85th minute, Abia Warriors were compensated with a relief goal by courtesy of a splendid overhead kick provided by Adetunji. The Ex- Shooting Stars of Ibadan striker exploited goalkeeper Ospino’s miss from a cross to volley the ball into an empty post.

MFM FC is presently a point ahead of Plateau United who held Rivers United to a fruitless draw in one of the NPFL Matchday 16 game.
