Senegalese forward Sadio Mane is set to return against Chelsea, as “The Kops” have arranged a private jet to fly the player after Senegal was knocked out by Cameroon in the quarter-final stage of the on-going African Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Senegal are out of the competition after Sadio Mane was felt distraught on Saturday after missing the decisive penalty kick in a 5-4 shootout of the quarterfinal game to former African Champions Cameroon at the Stade de Franceville, Gabon.
Mane, who has been away to represent his country at the Africa Cup of Nations with Liverpool struggling to cope, his absence has coincided with the worst run of results for Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp is wasting no time to bring back the reliable winger back to the club ahead of Chelsea game.
According to the Telegraph, Liverpool’s chairman has scheduled a quick return of Mane, and the forward will fly down with a private jet to join the squad to face Chelsea in Tuesday Premier League Clash.
Jurgen Klopp spoke about the absence of the 24-year-old admitting he had ” mixed emotions” about Senegal’s progress in the competition.
“We knew about the Africa Cup of Nations before – it is the same for all teams,” says Klopp.
“We have a lot of respect for what they are doing there. It is not too cool being in the middle of our season.”
