Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimović netted before the end of the first half against league champions Leicester City, as he reached a small but significant number, breaking EPL record of the oldest player to score 15 goals.
If sceptics and critics weren’t already silenced or confused about Zlatan’s ability then they need a chilled old wine and taste how it gets better with age.
At 35 years, Ibrahimović is now the oldest EPL striker to reach 15 goals in a single season, the goal was Ibra’s 20th in all competitions making him the first Red Devils player to registered 20goals in a season after Dutch forward Robin Van Persie in 2012/2013, and also overtaking Teddy Sheringham who racked up 15 for United in the 2000-01 campaign.
However, Zlatan who joined United last summer on a free transfer from PSG has been wonderful despite his age and could win his first laurel with the club as Red Devils battle Southampton in EFL Cup final at the Wembley Stadium on February 26.
