FC Ifeanyi Ubah is now the champions of the 2017 Charity Cup defeating Enugu Rangers at the Abuja National Stadium on Wednesday.
Anambra warriors remain dominant over Coal City brethren Enugu Rangers, Fc Ifeanyi seeks revenge after two home wins in 2014/2015 NPFL season and 2015/2016 and another away win in 2014/2015 season as both teams meet at a neutral venue at the Abuja National Stadium.
FC Ifeanyi Ubah remains unbeaten in their last four encounters with Rangers, the warriors were down with 10 men in the first half of the game as Ghanaian defender Kojo Baah was sent off after a challenge and arguing with the linesman.
Both the warriors and Rangers fired blanks at the regular time, as both settled for spot kicks which ended 4-3 in favour of the Anambra Warriors.
The Charity Cup win comes as an acid test for Fc Ifeanyi Ubah as they travel to the ancient emirate city of Kano to play Kano Pillar at the Sani Abacha Stadium for the 2016/2017 NPFL season opener on Saturday, while Rangers face arch-rival Abia Warriors.
However.the defeat is a wake-up call for the Enugu Rangers as they are the Nation’s flag bearer in the Caf Champion League alongside Rivers United, while the Anambra Warriors and Wikki tourist will be hosted in the Caf Confederation cup.
