Nigeria and Everton starlet Ademola Lookman has clarified how he opposed his parents to end up distinctly a professional footballer.
Lookman was born in England to parents of Nigerian descent and is qualified for the national team of both Nigeria and England.he got his first international call-up on 16 May 2016 being named in the England U19 squad against Mexico. and was subsequently named in England squad for the European U19 Championships.
“My parents are from the western part of Nigeria and in our culture they want you to go to school and become a lawyer or accountant, so it was applicable to me too. Though I told them I want to become an accountant but I was lying, I actually want to become a footballer” he added.
Lookman joined Everton from Charlton Athletic in a £10 million move in the January transfer window said the demise of his former teammate really spurred him in making a career out of football.
“He came to training with a swollen knee and in the following day, we heard that he’s died of a blood clot.
“It was so sudden, and we have vowed to make it for him” he concluded.
