Chelsea Influential forward Eden Hazard is eager for more goals to earn the ‘legendary status‘ at Stamford Bridge in the wake of scoring his 100th for the club in a 2-1 Premier League victory over Watford at Vicarage Road on Boxing Day.
In a game of pulsating action and incessant mistakes it was Chelsea’s false nine who gave the genuine quality, Eden Hazard scoring twice as the Blue’s move back to the top four of the Premier League log after a couple of hours’ absence, their favorable position over fifth-set Arsenal stretched their points to two.
The Belgian scored his 100th goal for Chelsea in first-half stoppage time, put off on the way to his second century with a penalty in the 58th minute,
The 27-year old has now earn three goals and set up five more in his last six Premier League games and either scored or created 19 goals in the top flight this season, more than some other player.
Hazard has made no hidden secret of his longing to play the European champions (Real Madrid), but the blue’s mercurial play-maker wants to ensure he go down as a legend at Stamford Bridge before proceeding onward.
In an interview with Skysport, Hazard state: “The goals mean a lot, especially because of the win. Yes, 101 goals with this amazing club is something I will never forget. Now, I think me, the fans, the players, we want more.
I want to score more goals for the club, and become a legend, like [Frank] Lampard, [John] Terry, [Didier] Drogba. I try to do my best, but when we are winning we can enjoy it a lot.”
Victory for Maurizio Sarri’s side leaves them fourth in the top-flight table, two points above Arsenal after the latter were held to a draw by Brighton and Hove Albion.
The Belgian forward was pleased with the character his team-mates showed following a shocking loss to Leicester City in their previous outing.
“We showed great character against Manchester City after losing to Wolves. And today, after losing to Leicester, we did the same. ” he added.
“We played really well. When we fight together we are a top team so we need to do it. more”
