Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori has complete a loan move to Championship side Brighton & Hove Albion on a temporary deal until the end of the season.
The 19-year old will join the Seagulls for the rest of the 2016-2017 campaign, with the club just one point behind Championship league leaders Newcastle United
Fikayo Tomori, who plays as a centre-back and also on right-back made his full debut for ” The Blues” coming on for Branislav Ivanovic against Leicester City in the last league game of the 2015-2016 season. Tomori signed a new four-year deal at Stamford Bridge keeping him till 2020,
However, Brighton head coach expressed his delights of seeing the club’s new recruit.
“We have brought in Fikayo on loan from Chelsea to provide us with some additional cover in the full-back positions, and we are delighted to welcome him to the club,” Hughton told the club’s official website.
“He is a highly-rated young full-back, by both Chelsea and England; he is predominantly a right-back, but he can play in any position across the back four and will give us good defensive cover for the first-team for the second half of the season. ”
The former England who is also eligible to represent his father’s land ( Nigeria) won Chelsea’s Academy Player of the Year award last season helping his team retain the FA Youth Cup and the UEFA Youth League.
