FC Ifeanyi Ubah (FCIU) and Wikki Tourist of Bauchi will look to get their league season back on track on Wednesday when they play Remo Stars of Sagamu and Kano pillars respectively in a rescheduled Nigeria Professional Football League match day 8 encounter.
The reigning Federation cup champions FCIU were knocked out of the CAF confederation cup by Al Masry of Egypt on penalties after a 1-1 aggregate scoreline while Wikki tourist bowed to RSLAF of Sierra Leone 2-0 on aggregate to officially end their participation in this year’s Confederations cup.
FCIU will welcome Remo stars to Anambra with the hope of getting maximum points over their struggling visitors. The sky blue stars are bottom of the league on just 9 points from 11 games while FCIU is just 2 places above their visitors with 11 points from 10 games. While Ifeanyi Ubah drew 2-2 at home to Abia warriors on Sunday, Remo stars lost to Mountain of Fire Ministries 1-0 in Lagos.
Fresh from a convincing 3-1 win over Enyimba on Sunday, Kano pillars will welcome Wikki tourist to the Sani Abacha stadium in Kano. Both teams have contrasting league fortune this season as the “Sai Masu Gida” are 7th in the league while Tourists are languishing in 19th with just 11 points from 10 games losing 0-1 to sunshine stars of Akure on Sunday.
