Everton are setting sights on Arsenal’s forward Olivier Giroud as the Merseyside club in search of striker to replace Romelu Lukaku ahead of his move Manchester United.
The France International is a forward in demand this summer, with Marseille, Lyon and West Ham all trying to get the Frenchman service, alongside Everton. However, case, “Toffees” are sure they can persuade the Arsenal man to join them this summer.
Ronald Koeman sees the 30-year old as the perfect man to replace the outbound Romelu Lukaku, who looks set to seal a potential £90m move to Manchester United.
Giroud scored 16 times in 40 games for Arsenal last season however he was much of backup player, starting just 11 EPL games, and the situation is probably not going to get easy given the big-money arrival of Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon but Giroud wants to remain at the Emirates and fight for his place.
The signing of Giroud would show another noteworthy bit of business from Everton, with the Merseysiders setting the pace in the summer transfer window so far.
