Chidiebere Nwakali scored a sublime free-kick for his loan side Sogndal to power them to a 1-0 win over Aalesund in a top-flight league game in Norway.
The on-loan Manchester City player curled home a sublime free-kick into the roof of the net of Aalesund as early as the second minute of the game but ended the game on a sad note after picking up a red card six minutes to full time.
The 20-year-old signed a four-year deal with Manchester City from Shuttle Sports Academy On 20 January 2014 alongside Kelechi Iheanacho after their exploits with the Nigeria U-17 team of 2013. He was also a part of the first team’s pre-season tour to the USA in July, but while Iheanacho has gone on to establish himself as a first-team regular Nwakali has been out on loan to four different teams.
He failed to make the most of the loan he had in Spain with Malaga and Girona, Nwakali terminated his loan spell with the Catalans, after failing to play a single minute for the club.
The right-back joined Tippeligaen side IK Start where he made his professional debut, coming on as a second-half substitute for Mathias Rasmussen in a 0–1 home loss against Viking FK and has progressed steadily since moving to Norway.
