Nigeria Professional Football League champions, Enugu Rangers will on Thursday depart Enugu for Egypt as they prepare for their first leg, first round CAF champions league qualifier against Zamalek of Egypt.
The flying antelopes will board Ethiopian airline for Egypt on Thursday in preparation for the match will be played on Sunday. Rangers knocked out JS Soura of Algeria on goal difference after a one all scoreline while Zamalek, five times CAF champions league champions were given a “bye” into the 1st round of qualifiers
The Confederation of African Football has delegated South African Referee, Daniel Frazer Bennett to be responsible for the clash at the Al Salam Stadium in Cairo.
Bennett will be assisted by kindred South Africans Zakhele Thusi Siwela from Tunisia.
Enugu Rangers’ director, “Executive,” Christian Chukwu said on Wednesday that the ‘Flying Antelopes’ have the spirit and the persistence to drive their feet into the ground against the ‘Mediterranean Knights’.
“We will go to Egypt with a course of action to stretch out beyond ahead of the second leg next week,” Chukwu stated
Enugu Rangers dispensed with Algerian debutants JS Saoura on away goal and should be taking care of business to defeat the experienced Egyptian club.
