Manchester City suffered an embarrassing defeat in the EPL as they were thrashed 4-0 by Everton at Goodison park on Sunday, British-Nigerian sensation Ademola Lookman crown his Premier League debut with a goal against Manchester City.
The visitors never saw the defeat coming considering how the game started on a high note, but they met the host more determined and focus on securing maximum points at their home ground.
City loss was fifth of the Premier League campaign and has left the Guardiola led side 10 points behind league leaders Chelsea, who thrashed Leicester city 3-0 on Saturday.
Goals from Belgian forward Romelu Lukaku, Kevin Mirallas and Tom Davis gave the Toffees a 3-0 lead before British-Nigerian sensation Ademola Lookman came in the stoppage time of the game to make it 4-0, denting City’s Premier League ambitions.
A mistake from -Ex-Everton player John Stones resulted in debutant ( Lookman) being given the opportunity to score from close range and the Nigerian international give no room for slacking as he drives the ball past Robles and into the net to earn a wonderful goal on his Premier League debut.
Lookman earlier had possible moves from Liverpool, Southampton and Arsenal before finally signing for the Toffees in the January transfer Window.
According to Everton pick up programme Lookman said:
“Karl spoke to me about Everton and gave me an insight into the club,” Lookman explained
“He told me that it was a very good club to go to and that they would develop me as a player and a person.
Karl really did a lot for me in the short space of time I worked with him. I appreciated everything he has done for me.”
