Reports claim Chelsea defender David Luiz was by all account, not the only player associated with the Conte-Luiz “bust-up” that saw the Brazilian banished from the squad for the triumph over Manchester United on Sunday.
Chelsea’s Champions League embarrassment at the hands of Roma has devastatingly affected the atmosphere in the locker room if reports in Spain are to believed.
Top Spanish media outlet ‘Sport‘ reports that Cesc Fabregas, Gary Cahill, and David Luiz were altogether engaged with the “bust-up” with Antonio Conte the day after the Roma clash as the players questioned the tactics that resulted in the defeat.
Subsequently, Luiz was stripped of his starting berth in Chelsea’s 1-0 win over United, but the Brazilian was the only player who was rebuffed for the episode.
Speculation has been quick to propose that the relationship between David Luiz and the ousted Diego Costa could have been a factor in sidelining the Brazilian but that appears to be fairly far-fetched considering that the 30-year-old had already started each Premier League game that he had been accessible for so far this season.
