AS Roma has officially signed Rick Karsdorp after the Seria A side paid €14m to price the talented midfielder away fro Feyenoord.
Karsdorp was one of the key players in the Feyenoord side which won a historic Eredivisie title last season and has now decided to attempt his fortunes in Italy. At just 22, he becomes La Giallorossi second signing of the summer after securing the signature of PSV Eindhoven star Hector Moreno.
In the wake of ascending through Feyenoord’s youth rank, Karsdorp made over 100 appearances for the first-team. After playing a key part in the Rotterdam side’s Eredivisie title win, he talked about his excitement at making a decisive move to the Italian capital.
“Moving to Roma is a major stride for me,” he told the club’s official site. “I come here with extraordinary desire and enthusiasm to play and realize my dreams.
“I know despite everything I have the opportunity to get better and I want to do that here.”
