Spanish striker Alvaro Negredo has taken after Pepe’s footsteps in joining Turkish champions Besiktas. The striker arrives Turkey on what is said to be a three-year deal, with the Turkish champions reportedly beating Swansea City and Leeds United to secure his signature.
Negredo lands at Besiktas having spent last-season on loan at Premier League club Middlesbrough and takes after Ex- Real Madrid defender Pepe in joining the club.
The 31-year-old Spaniard scored only nine league objectives for Boro in 2016-17 as they were relegated from the Premier League, having overseen just five in LaLiga for Valencia the past campaign. Besiktas are looking for a third progressive Super Lig title in 2017-18.
Besiktas revealed a video in which he answered fellow summer signing Pepe’s plea for him to join the club.
And it may just be the worst transfer announcement we’ve seen yet.
