Ligue 1 giant Paris Saint-Germain has secure the signing of former Barcelona right-back Dani Alves on a free transfer deal after the Brazil international rescinded his Juventus contract.
Dani Alves was generally expected to join Manchester City and reunite Pep Guardiola after their time together at Camp Nou but an ESPN FC source has said that PSG offered to twofold the Premier League club’s salary offer.
Alves will wear No 32, a number effectively worn by David Beckham in Paris. The 34-year-old joins the French side for free after been released by Juventus with a year to go on his contract, he will receive a weekly salary of £230,000.
Subsequent to exceeding expectations at Sevilla, winning everything at Barcelona and winning the Coppa and Serie A with Juventus, Dani Alves touches base at a club desperate to join Europe’s first class.
PSG announced his arrival with a video of the player printing his name and number on a shirt.
“Believe me, I am coming to Paris to win,” said Alves, who is the 30th Brazilian to play for the Ligue 1 club.
“In recent years, I have been able to gauge the incredible growth of this club, which has become a European football powerhouse. It’s very exciting to now be part of this great project.”
