Nigerian-born Arsenal prospect Reiss Nelson has signed his first professional contract with the London outfit, the England youth international joined the Gunners since he was seven and risen through the ranks.
Reiss is already a regular for Gunner’s Under-23 team and he has also featured in six UEFA youth League matches where he registered two goals, also making the list of England Under-17 team that featured at the European U-17 Championship in Azerbaijan where he had nine goals in ten games.
The 17-year old who was said to have modelled himself after former France and Real Madrid superstar Zinedine Zidane.
Following the deal, a press statement was released by Arsenal stated:“We would like to congratulate Reiss on his deal and look forward to his continued progress with the club.”
With the new deal in place, Reiss will need to tighten his boot-lace, summon the courage and embrace hard work if his to break into the Arsenal first Eleven, and rub shoulders with the big Guns.
