Liverpool have been hit with a massive blow in the wake of ruling out Sadio Mane for up to a month and a half with a hamstring injury he suffered in Senegal’s 2-0 World Cup qualifying win over Cape Verde Islands on Saturday.
He has substituted close the end of the game and it has now been affirmed he will be on the sideline for a long time, which will start when he watches Saturday’s crucial clash against Manchester United from the stands.
Sadio Mane is facing a spell on the sidelines after sustaining a hamstring injury on international duty, Liverpool FC can confirm,” read a statement on the club’s official website.
“The winger was substituted 89 minutes into Senegal’s 2-0 World Cup qualifying win over the Cape Verde Islands on Saturday. And it has now been confirmed that he picked up an injury during that fixture that could keep him out of action for up to six weeks.”
Sadio Mane’s season has been intruded on again after Liverpool revealed he will be out for six months with a hamstring injury, Mane is an integral part of Klopp’s squad and had officially registered three goals this season in spite of missing three Premier League games after his red card at the Etihad.
