According to reports in the Italian press, and predominantly ‘La Gazzetta Dello Sport’, Manchester United are willing to spend a whopping sum of £40m on Roma’s Belgian international midfielder Radja Nainggolan.
This comes hours after the English press asserted that Nainggolan featured higher up on Jose Mourinho’s transfer- list that Nemanja Matic, who is reported to have his medical at Manchester United on Wednesday.
The duo are said to be valued at around a similar mark by their separate clubs (£40m) and given that both players are moving toward 30, it has been proposed that they would both be allowed to leave at the right price.
Matic is a known quality figure to Mourinho, with the pair having worked together at Chelsea, though there is a feeling that Nainggolan would give United more dynamism in midfield than Matic.
As indicated by the ‘Daily Mail’, the Belgian turned down a move to Chelsea last summer, but it would appear that he may get another opportunity to make a move to the Premier League.
