Super Eagles and on-loan Kasimpasa defender Kenneth Omeruo clocked 24 years today and couldn’t contain the excitement of witnessing yet another birthday.
The former Standard Liege youth player took to social media to share pictures of himself and friends with the caption: “It’s My Birthday…. All I can say is thank you, Jesus, for how far you have brought me. Jesus, you love me too much ooooooooooo….. #excesslove.”
Omeruo In Few Words
Omeruo signed for Chelsea from Standard Liege in January 2012 and after signing he was loan out to Dutch side ADO Den Haag. At that point just 19, he sufficiently awed in the Eredivisie to win a call-up to the Nigerian national team.
The tall, rangy but strong centre-back has been on loan to several clubs after finding it hard to displace the likes of Gary Cahill, David Luiz in Conte pecking order, and preceding signing a new three-year deal at Chelsea, Omeruo returned to Kasımpaşa on a season-long loan again.
Omeruo has represented Nigeria at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2013 Confederations Cup in Brazil. Omeruo solidified a place in the starting line-up at the Africa Cup of Nations as it transformed into an awesome tournament for the Super Eagles and they rose up out of the competition triumphant
Omeruo has failed to cement his place in Gernot Rohr squad and wasn’t among the players that were invited for the last phase of the World Cup qualifiers but played the away game in Ndola against Zambia which finished in a 2-1 scoreline for Super Eagles.
