Super Eagles invitee Josh Maja score twice in Sunderland pre-season game as the Black Cat defeat Bury FC 3-2 at Gigg Lane on Friday.
Sunderland coach Simon Grayson rolled out a few changes to the team before the start of the second half, bringing on the18-year-old Nigerian striker, who had trained with the first team at their preparation camp in Austria.
With the Black Cats trailing 2-1, Maja leveled when he slid in to send the ball over the line in the wake of getting Khazri’s pass in the 77th minute.
On 86 minutes, he made it 3-2 and place Sunderland ahead for the first time in the pulsating encounter after Bury FC shot-stopper Joe Murphy failed to stop his well-struck volley.
