Super Eagle’s striker Odion Ighalo proceeded with his impressive form for Chinese Super League side Chen Jingang as they breezed past Tianjin Tigers in a Chinese topflight outing.
The 28-year-old registered his 12th goal of the season in Changchun Yatai’s 5-1 pulverization of Tianjin Teda in the Chinese Super League encounter on Friday.
Anzur Ismailov opened the scoring five minutes before the quarter half-hour mark and brisk effective goals from Marinho and Rui Yu guaranteed that the Changchun led side went into halftime with three goals up.
In the second half, Xiaodong Fan makes it 4 after he fired home in the 48th minutes before Nigerian international Ighalo added to the misfortunes of their hosts when he ruptured their backline to smash the fifth goal in the outing.
However, a consolation goal from Yuanyi Li could do little to hurt Jingang’s side.
Ighalo’s comrade Mikel Obi also featured for the full length of the match but couldn’t save his side from the overwhelming thrashing and he was cautioned in the 62nd minute after a bad challenge on Tianjin Tiger’s player.
