Eden Hazard has scooped the Premier League Goal of the Month award for February after his fabulous solo goal against Arsenal.
Chelsea was 1-0 up at Stamford Bridge when the Hazard grabbed the ball at the midway line. His fabulous run and clinical finish give the Blues an unwinding lead which finished in a 3-1 triumph.
The 26-year-old shook off Coquelin’s nearness and smash the ball past Petr Cech to add another incredible goal to his accumulation of stunners and get a Carling Goal of the Month award.
Hazard’s solo goal beats any semblance of Danny Drinkwater’s thunderbolt for Leicester against Liverpool and Robbie Brady’s staggering free-kick on his Burnley debut against Chelsea to get monthly goal award.
Furthermore, in the wake of winning the Premier League accolade, the Belgian international admitted that it was “Fantastic” – before focusing on significant silverware over the next couple of months
“It is always good to win trophies,” Hazard told Chelsea’s official website. “It is not my most important target to win Goal of the Month, I want to win big trophies at the end of the season, but it is something I can say in few years’ time to my kids that I scored a beautiful goal against Arsenal.
“It means a lot for the fans and for us because it was a derby and we won the game. That is the most important thing in football, that you win the game if you score a fantastic goal, and I hope to score more goals like this.”
