Eden Hazard scored a wonderful solo goal as “The Blues” moved a step closer to winning the EPL with a stunning 3-1 win over depleted Arsenal at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
Chelsea have gone 10 points clear at the top of the Premier League table cruising past toothless Gunners, Marcos Alonso opened the scoring early in the first half of the game before Eden Hazard and Cesc Fabregas sealed the win in a sweet performance from Conte’s players.
Oliver Giroud did grab a consolation goal for the Gunners in added time but that wasn’t enough to cancel out their toothless display.
It was Chelsea 11th home win in succession and their 16th win in EPL also stretching their lead, they have been in dynamic form since Antonio Conte changed the system after their 3-0 loss to Arsenal on September 24.
Arsene Wenger who had to watch the woeful display of his player from the stands as he served the third game of a four-match ban, with no good midfielders available, Wenger was forced to start Chamberlain alongside Francis Coquelin in the middle while Walcott replaced Giroud.
Chelsea was almost caught off guard as Alex Iwobi low shot curled wide after Thibaut Courtois overhit a short pass towards David Luiz, minutes later the Blues responded with Pedro sending a cross into the box from the right that Diego Costa headed against the woodwork sending Petr Cech off balance.
Bellerin got himself in a position to head the ball away but Alonso flew in from nowhere brushing out his Spaniard counterpart with his forearm and sends the ball home.
The second half came in with Arsenal dominating most of the possession in the first 10 minutes but later lost it out to Chelsea’s ever ready midfield generals.
Hazard picked up the ball from the centre leaving a trail of carnage, invade past Koscielny and meets Francis Coquelin halfway on his journey but the Belgian brush off Coquelin and charge forwards but his skills and flair were just too much for Koscienly and Mustafi to match, waste no time and drive the ball home.
Cech deserves a medal for providing straight assists for former Arsenal player Cesc Fabregas, before Giroud’s late minute header to makes it 3-1
Now no compliments can comprehend how classy Chelsea side was against Arsenal, now the EPL race is becoming a procession and football fans are about to witness the great managerial performances in the modern day era, although there are three months left before the end of the season and no team is willing to surrender their fight even it’s a mission impossible.
