The players were particularly mindful of the significance of getting a decent outcome on Thursday night, Rashford and Aguero being the attackers making any sort of risk.
Manchester City dominates the game as both Manager’s aims came to fruition. Guardiola’s men were upbeat on the ball, with Aguero bringing devastation up in the final third, while Manchester United held up persistently to get through Martial, Mkhitaryan or Rashford.
The Argentine forward had the most obvious opportunity on the first 45 minutes after striking the ball against the base of the post from De Bruyne’s low cross, and in spite of Bravo looking unsettled, the scoreline was as yet unaffected going into half time.
Manchester City found two or three openings in the United defence in the first half, and it seems United may be prepared to risk somewhat more, but they got back again into position without City ready to take advantage of their chances
De Bruyne and Aguero were most dynamic, but frustrating performances from Sane and Sterling compromised City dominance, the worse came when Bravo was taken away on a stretcher after yet another injury.
Mourinho’s side for all intents and purposes abandoned holding the ball and simply centred around keeping City dominance under control, with Rashford totally out of the game. The controversy arrived towards the end of the game when Marouane Fellaini got a red card.
The Belgian midfielder committed a foul on Aguero, after 30 seconds later he give another silly challenge on the striker, Aguero rose up in annoyance to clash with the towering midfielder. Aguero hit the deck and Fellaini was sent off for headbutting the Argentine forward.

Mourinho’s side could repell City’s late charge, and procure a valuable point at the Etihad. both team sits in same position on the EPL log,, drawing nearer to Liverpool as the race for the top four spots warms up.
